Using BoxStand In Game
Every icon, message and limit on this page can be changed - each section links to the keys that own it, and Configuration lists them all.
Opening the GUI
Sneak + right-click an armor stand. A plain right-click stays vanilla.
The GUI

Top row - the copy slot, then what the stand wears.
The copy slot takes a stand item: a copied one applies its settings and items to this stand, a plain one has this stand copied onto it. See Copy and paste.
Button row
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Visible | Show or hide the stand, and the mannequin with it |
| Gravity | The stand falls while on |
| Arms | Show arms so the stand can hold items |
| Base Plate | Show the plate under the feet |
| Lock | Make the stand unbreakable and its items locked |
| Mannequin | Choose or remove a model |
| Pose | Open posing |
Buttons a player cannot use are hidden; the rest close the gap. Icons and the permission each one asks for are under gui:.
Equipment
Drag items in like a normal inventory.
- Backpack sits on the stand's back and follows the body pose. Size and
height:
backpack:. - Balloon floats on a lead: any item, or a spawn egg for a live mob. Size,
offsets and drift:
balloon:.
Mannequins
Click the mannequin button to pick a model; click it again to take it off. Models are added one file per kind - see Mannequins.
Slots the model cannot use are hidden, and what was in them comes back when the model goes.
Visible off hides the model without removing it - the model, pose and stored items all return with it.
Posing
Click the pose button. Preset poses open first when a model has them, otherwise the part selector does. A model's poses are listed in its pose: block.

Click a part to start turning it, shift-click to reset it. Stand turns the whole stand, and has no reset. Parts a model cannot use drop out and the row re-centres.
The copy slot takes a stand item: a copied one applies its pose to this stand, a plain one has this pose copied onto it. See Copy and paste.
While editing a part (default scroll control):
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Scroll | Rotate the part |
| Sneak + scroll | Rotate on the Y axis |
| Right-click a part | Switch to that part |
| Left-click | Finish |
With pose.control: wasd, W/S and A/D rotate, sneak + A/D uses the Y axis, and jump steps out to walk around.
The axis follows where you stand - front and back turn one, the sides the other. The action bar names both; the board counts the angles (pose.sidebar: false to hide).
Walking more than 8 blocks away also ends the session.
Copy and paste
Middle-click (the pick-block key) while looking at a stand:
- Holding an armor stand item: the item receives the pose and settings.
- In creative, holding anything else: you receive a new armor stand item carrying the pose, settings and items.
The copy can also be used in two menus, whose slots are set under paste-slot::
- Drop it on the GUI's copy slot to apply only settings and items.
- Drop it on the part selector's copy slot to apply only the pose.
A plain stand item on either slot works the other way: the stand writes onto it. In creative, clicking a copy slot empty-handed just hands you the copy.
Balloons

- A spawn egg becomes a live mob. Shift + right-click the slot flips it between adult and baby.
- Right-click the empty slot to name a ModelEngine model.
- Right-clicking the stand's chest in the world fills the balloon too, without opening the GUI. Which part answers is
balloon.click-part.
Each kind takes its own scale, and where the balloon floats, how far the lead reaches and how much it drifts are all set: balloon:, offsets, motion.
Hidden stands
Hidden stands come back as markers while a player sneaks. Radius, marker item and blocked worlds live under sneak:.
Blocked worlds show nothing, admins included. /boxstand bypass [player] turns the markers on for one player there.
Locking
A locked stand cannot be broken and its items cannot be taken. With gui.buttons.lock.personal on, only the locker may open the GUI - boxstand.lock.bypass overrides.
